Kayo Nishinomiya majored in mural painting, faculty of Oil Painting, Tokyo University of the Arts. She is well known with her sculptures of mosaic. She creates animal sculptures such as Daruma-shaped cats and octopuses using fragmented marbles and shells as materials. Last year she studied in Italy by the Japanese Government Overseas Study Program.
