I am little sad to be writing this note to you from almost 5,000 miles away in Seattle, USA. I would much prefer to be there in person. I would like to offer huge thanks for coming to view my prints at Ginza Fugetsudo and Gallery Art Unlimited. I hope that you enjoy the work. I miss all my friends in Tokyo. I miss Japan and karaoke! My last travels there were ten months ago when I photographed Hokkaido in the depths of Winter. This is much too long to be apart! But, I remain optimistic that it will not be long before we can defeat Covid together and return to a degree of normalcy. In the meantime, I have been spending a lot of time in my darkroom preparing for an exhibition of my Asia work at the Musée national des arts asiatiques Guimet, Paris next October. It has been fascinating to go back through my negative archives and find all sorts of treasures that I had not yet printed. I have also been working on a number of upcoming new books which will be published over the next few years. Today it is pouring with rain here so I am about to head back into my darkroom to print. I greatly look forward to sharing these projects with you, and seeing all your smiling faces again soon. I greatly appreciate your support and encouragement during these challenging times. Please take good care of yourselves, and stay safe, happy and healthy. I send my sincerest regards from across the Pacific Ocean.
